Stretchable Histogram Variants
This page contains three versions of the "Stretchable Histogram" applet
designed for our "Measures of Central Tendency" tutorial.
These applets require a browser which supports JDK1.1.
- The original version:
-
Each bin must be grabbed (at the top) and stretched individually.
No attempt is made to keep the number of cases constant.
- The current version with re-distribution:
-
Each bin must be grabbed and dragged individually, but cases are taken from
or added to other bins to keep the total number of cases constant.
- Histogram with "target" behavior:
-
Does not require grabbing each bin individually.
The user can (machine speed permitting) simply drag the mouse in the shape of
the distribution.
As with the original version, no attempt is made to keep the number of
cases constant.
